BREAKING: Suspect Arrested In Sydney, Cape Breton Shooting That Saw Emergency Alert Issued

The suspect in tonight’s shooting on Rotary Drive, in Sydney, Cape Breton has been arrested.

Cape Breton Regional Police had been searching for a man after a shooting. Residents in the area were advised to lock their doors and not pick up hitchhikers.

Emergency response officers, K-9 teams, drones and patrol officers were involved in the search.

The suspect in the Rotary Drive shooting has been located and arrested. The victim remains in hospital in stable condition and the investigation is ongoing. Thank you for your cooperation.

The shooting victim was transported to hospital and is in stable condition. Police say they believe he was shot with a long gun in what appears to have been an isolated incident.
