Showers and drizzle will be changing to rain as the day progresses. Environment Canada has issued the following Warnings and Special Weather Statements.
Rainfall Warning: Digby, Shelburne and Yarmouth Counties
Environment Canada says rain, at times heavy, is expected today. There could be additional rainfall amounts of 25-35 mm and exceeding 50 mm in some of the heaviest downpours.
There is also the chance of embedded thundershowers and this where you will see the heaviest rain.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Special Weather Statement: Majority of Nova Scotia
Environment Canada says heavy rainfall is expected over Nova Scotia tonight through Thursday Morning.
Total rainfall of 30 to 50 mm except possible rainfall as high as 70 mm in some areas.
Rainfall amounts will vary as bands of heavier rain move through the region. Rainfall rates will occasionally be high which will lead to excessive water runoff and water pooling on roadways giving difficult driving conditions.
