RCMP in Barrington, NS say they have charged a man with firearms offences after an incident in Lower Clark’s Harbour.
Steven Edward Goreham, 52, who was the subject of a dangerous person emergency alert on the night of December 20, has been charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Uttering Threats.
RCMP officers have taken the suspect into custody safely. No one was injured during the incident. Residents are no longer being asked to remain inside their homes. Officers are still at the location, continuing with the investigation.

Police say on December 20 at approximately 6:00PM, RCMP responded to a report of a man having fired shots on a property on Centreville South Side Road in Lower Clark’s Harbour. It is alleged Goreham was involved in a dispute with five other people, had fired shots into the air and then fled the property. No one was injured during the incident.
Barrington RCMP officers were assisted by the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team, RCMP Police Dog Services and Shelburne RCMP officers.
Shortly after midnight, the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team located Goreham at a home on Centreville South Side Road. After a short negotiation, he surrendered peacefully and was safely arrested.
Goreham was remanded into custody and will appear in Shelburne Provincial Court today.
The investigation is ongoing.
