Nova Scotia will recognize Monday, September 19, 2022, as a provincial holiday in honour of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral service.
Provincial government offices, public schools and regulated child care will be closed. Healthcare services, appointments and procedures will remain operational across the province.
Businesses will have the choice, as they do on other occasions, to remain open.
“Nova Scotia joins the Government of Canada and other provinces recognizing September 19 as a day to honour and pay tribute to the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” said Premier Tim Houston.
A multi-faith memorial service will be held in Halifax on Monday, September 19, at 2 p.m.
The provincial commemorative service is open to the public. It will be held at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Cathedral Lane, Halifax. Guests are asked to be seated by 1:30 p.m.
The service will be livestreamed at: https://www.facebook.com/LtGovNS and https://www.youtube.com/nsgov
