Adding to the hot housing market and lack of available housing in Halifax, maybe it’s our beautiful scenery, the salty sea air or our welcoming nature. Halifax has been ranked the number two city in Canada that people would consider moving to in order to buy a home, according to Finder.com
Finder polled 1,200 adult Canadians and found Toronto although one of the most expensive markets to purchase a home to be number one and Halifax a close number two. Those Canadians aged 45-54 years old chose Halifax as their top choice to relocate to. Those 35-44 chose Halifax as their number two destination.
Residents on the West Coast of Canada were most willing to move with 60% stating they would. The largest segments of the Canadian population willing to move to find housing are Millennials at 70% and Generation Zers at 85%
Across the country 54% of Canadians would consider moving in order to afford a home. The survey also found that with the federal election almost upon us, younger generations are more likely to have their vote influenced by party policies based on affordable housing.
