The price of regular self-serve gasoline is heading up at midnight in Nova Scotia. When you wake in the morning expect to be paying a minimum of 3.1 cents more for fuel.
The price of gas right now in the Halifax area is set at a minimum of 143.9 cents per litre. Tonight at midnight the price will be rising to a minimum, 147.0 cents per litre. Expect to pay more outside of the Halifax Region.
“This trend will likely unfortunately continue for a few more weeks and could stick around longer.” says Patrick De Haan, Head Petroleum Analysist at GasBuddy.com.
“The problem for Canada is weakened currency is fueling prices by about 25 cents per litre since oil is globally traded in US Dollars, but also a growing energy crunch overseas is leading to higher demand amidst lower supply.”
This increase should push most of the province into record price territory. Motorists would be advised to fill their tanks if they wish to save a couple of dollars tonight.
