A forest fire is still burning in West Porters Lake as of 6:30pm Sunday. Halifax Fire is now under control
Fifty hectares (125 acres) has been consumed by fire and there has been no loss of homes or structures.
Crews fought the fire until dark last night, then stood down for their safety. A crew and drone remained on scene to monitor the situation during the night.
Evacuation orders for around 1,000 residents have been lifted.
People are being advised to avoid the area.
The fires point of origin has been found and secured. An investigator will be requested.
