The horrifying noise of an emergency alert is going to sound this week, but most likely what you’re hearing is a test.
Alert Ready is the system used to notify Canadians of critical and potentially life-saving information through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices.
There is going to be a test of the system coming up and your devices will alarm. When your mobile phone, television and radio go bananas on November 16 at 1:55PM, be aware, it’s only a test.
When the alert comes through, it will make it clear that there is no emergency and that it’s a test of the system.
If you hear the alert at any other time than a designated test, follow the instructions given in the message to keep you and your family safe.
