Thirty year old Colin Hugh Tweedie, a Cape Breton man from Big Bras d’Or has been found not guilty of impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and leaving the scene of an accident.
Tweedie had been charged in connection with the death of Talia Neveah Forrest, 10, of Sydney Mines. She was riding her bicycle along Black Rock Road in Victoria County when she was struck by a vehicle and killed in July of 2019.
Tweedie had already plead guilty to a count of obstruction because he allegedly told police that his girlfriend was driving at the time of the crash.
Tweedie will be sentenced June 3 on the charge of obstruction.
