Campfires and burning have been banned in much of Nova Scotia due to the extreme risk of forest fires. The only two counties where they are permitted after 7pm are Cape Breton and Richmond. This also means personal fireworks are also not permitted at this time.
Fire crews were on the scene of a forest fire in Cow Bay Monday. As of 2pm the fire department and Department of Natural Resources had the fire knocked down about 90%.
