Eastern Passage, NS resident and chef Derrick Bona is on an inspirational weight loss journey after topping the scales at over 600 pounds.
Bona is currently in his 10th week of lifestyle change and is walking around his home town. Weeks ago it would sometimes take him 10 minutes to walk from his chair to the bathroom. He is now down to 524 pounds and a celebrity has taken notice.
Mr. Universe himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted some inspiration to Bona.
“People told me to offer you some encouragement, but you don’t need any.” said Schwarzenegger. “You’ve got this, so I’m really just sharing your tweet to inspire everyone else. I’m proud of you.”
