Accidental 911 Call In Cole Harbour Leads To Arrest, Seizure Of Grenades, Guns And Ammunition

Last night on January 16 at approximately 8:25PM, Halifax District RCMP received what was reported to be an accidental 911 call from a home in Cole Harbour. Officers were dispatched to the home located on Astral Drive to confirm there was no emergency.

Police report a dispute had happened at the home between a man and woman. There was allegedly damage throughout the home and firearms out in the open that were not safely stored. RCMP seized four handguns, numerous long guns including a carbine, loaded magazines, grenades, two swords, a spear, multiple knives and ammunition.

William Adam Judson Butt, 42 of Cole Harbour was held overnight and charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, unsafe storage of a firearm and mischief.

He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
