Nova Scotia Health says the Women and Children’s Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow will be temporarily closed for labour and deliveries, including any planned deliveries, between 8:00 AM on Wednesday, August 31 until 8:00 AM on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
“Pregnant patients in labour are instructed to present to the Aberdeen Hospital Women and Children’s Unit for assessment and may then be diverted to Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro or St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.” said Nova Scotia Health in a release.
A team will be available at the Aberdeen Hospital to support any emergency or unplanned deliveries.
If you are pregnant and expecting to deliver in the next few days you will be contacted directly by a member of the maternity team.
