Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for areas of Nova Scotia including the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Total rainfall of 25 mmm to 45 mm with higher amounts near 50 mm locally is possible. It will begin Monday night if it hasn’t already in your area and will intensify before midnight.
Environment Canada says that lightning strikes are possible in the heaviest showers. The rainfall will ease by Tuesday evening.

Drive with caution and watch for pooling of water on roads. Heavy rains can also cause flash flooding especially in low-lying areas.
