Snackers Rejoice! It Looks Like Costco Canada Plans To Resume Sampling Soon

Those who used to make the rounds at the sample tables in Costco have been going without during their shopping.

There have been many changes at Costco including senior and vulnerable shopping hours, the suggestion that members wear masks and restrictions on some returns.

Many Canadian Costco shoppers look to The United States to see what changes might be in store for Canada. Costco in the US announced they’d be resuming sampling leaving snackers rejoicing, but so far that hasn’t carried through to Canada. Officially, Costco Canada has said there are no plans to resume sampling.

Not to worry, CDS, the company that manages the sampling and demo of foods for Costco in Canada has put a call out on their website for employees to return to work. They are working closely with Costco buyers and vendors to build a demo schedule.

“Our first demos when we return will be key for us going forward.  We will want to ensure we are taking the right steps to engage members safely, while maintaining the proper controls around the demo cart.  We will share the lessons learned in our early demos to improve our overall processes for future events.” said CDS.

In other Costco news they have closed their food courts for dine-in and are currently offering a take-away option with a limited menu.
