The Dartmouth Handcrafters event is one of the earliest and larger Christmas craft shows in the area. All the crafts are high-end and hand made from paintings to carvings, from jewelry to unique crafts, from soaps to sewing and even yummy food.
The Show features large aisles, beautiful decorations and a friendly atmosphere to get you in the holiday spirit. There are some food vendors serving up delicious fare and an eating area for you to enjoy. There is even a rest area for shoppers, complete with a decorated Christmas tree
All shoppers get an entry ballot for the door prize (1 year membership for 2 at the Sportsplex)
They also will have a draw for a beautiful handmade cabinet donated by Lake City Woodworkers, which is a non-profit registered charity training special needs people in woodworking.
And finally there is a little game you can play at the Guild Information Booth on the main floor of the Sportsplex. If you win you get a gift donated by one of our talented crafters.
The Dartmouth Handcrafters guild prides itself on delivering the best handmade goods and giving back to the community. The Guild was created in 1974 as a non-profit organization when six craftspeople came together with an idea born from a shared passion for all things handmade. The objective was to help other handcrafters and to give back to the community. This non-profit organization has grown through the years to serve 100s of craftspeople who have participated in the annual craft shows.
The Guild has donated over $250,000 to over 90 charities across Nova Scotia. The chosen charity this year is the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS).
