Digby’s Wharf Rat Rally is returning this weekend from September 1 – 4 and over 50,000 motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to descend on the town to take part.
According to the Wharf Rat Rally’s website, events include Share The Wind where members of adult care programs, patients in hospitals, staff, and family are treated to rides through town in sidecars.
Other events include concerts, stunt shows, show and shines and fireworks to close out the festivities on Sunday.
Digby RCMP say they are planning for an increase in pedestrian, motorcycle and vehicle traffic in Digby during the weekend events.
There will be traffic delays and there will be a number of road closures throughout the town. Volunteers will be manning the road closure checkpoints and will be providing guidance to travelers.
There will be a heavy presence of RCMP officers throughout the town to assist with enforcement of no-parking zones, and the promotion of public safety.
A reminder that alcohol, substances and driving don’t mix!
