Despite the staggering mileage of over 760,000 kilometers on the odometer, “Dark Angel,” continues to defy expectations with its exceptional condition. German’s careful approach to maintenance has played an important role in preserving the longevity and reliability of his Hyundai Elantra.
Each day, German heads out on his mission, traveling highways, cities and towns, covering large distances to ensure timely delivery of blood products. Whether it’s the dead of night or rush hour, “Dark Angel” is always ready. German’s commitment to his duty is steadfast, he knows that every moment counts in potentially saving a life.
One particularly memorable incident showed German’s heroism beyond the role of his courier duties. While returning from a delivery to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Prince Edward Island, he spotted smoke coming over the horizon. Instinctively, he drove toward the source and discovered a car on fire with a woman trapped inside. Without hesitation, German jumped into action, assisted by another passerby. Together, they pulled the injured woman from the vehicle just moments before it was consumed by fire.
