This weekend, the first cruise ship of the season will arrive at the Port of Halifax ushering in the beginning of tourist season on the waterfront.
On Saturday, Norwegian Dawn with a capacity of 2,300 passengers will pull alongside at 7:00 AM and depart around 4:00 PM.
During 2022, in what they called a rebuilding year after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Port of Halifax welcomed 148 cruise ships carrying 234,000 passengers.
This season they’re expecting 191 cruise ships which includes two visits from Cunard’s Queen Mary 2. The fourth largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of The Seas will visit May 31. It has a capacity of 5,600 passengers.
