DETAILS: Getting Around Just Got Cheaper – There Will Be Free Buses And Ferries This Summer In Halifax

There was some good news this morning. With the ever rising costs of goods, this morning the Halifax Regional Municipality announced something would be free! Beginning July 1 through August 31, on certain days of the week, transit will be free around the city!

On Friday’s you can ride Halifax Transit busses, the Access-A-Bus, regional express service and ferries for free! On Saturdays, the Alderley Ferry to and from Halifax will be free to riders.

This will come in particularly handy during the Busker Festival this year. It is being held on both sides of the harbour from July 27 through August 1. There is also the Harbourside Ribfest which is being held at Alderney Landing from June 30 until July 3.

Canada Day also falls on a Friday, so get out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city!
