Low Income Nova Scotians Can Apply For $200 Heating Assistance Rebate – This Is How

Applications for the Heating Assistance Rebate Program open today, October 18, for the 2021-22 heating season. The program offers help to Nova Scotians with low incomes.

If you pay for your own heat and qualify, you can receive a rebate of up to $200.

The program launches today and runs through March 31, 2022. On average, the program provides more than 45,000 Nova Scotians with a rebate of up to $200 to help with home heating costs.

“Heating costs can be very stressful, particularly for people with a low-income,” said Colton LeBlanc, Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services.

“The Heating Assistance Rebate Program is here to help with those costs. It’s a quick and simple application process with an option for direct deposits.”

To qualify for the program a single-income household must not make more than $29,000 and a family-income household must not make more than $44,000.
