This Is How You Can Vote Early And Safely In Nova Scotia’s 41st Provincial Election

There are four options for voting in the Provincial Election.

Election Day for Nova Scotia’s 41st General Election is August 17, 2021. Polls will be open from 8AM to 8PM. If you are 18 years of age or older on August 17, 2021, a Canadian Citizen and have lived in Nova Scotia since January 17, 2021 you can exercise your democratic right and vote at your assigned voting location.

If you wish to cast your vote early, you have three options in the election. You can vote at a Returning Office which are open Mondays through Saturdays from 9am until 6pm. On Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13, they will be open until 8PM.

Advance Polls in Nova Scotia will be held Saturday, August 7 to Saturday August 14 from 9AM until 6PM. On Thursday August 12 and Friday August 13 they will remain open until 8PM.

Not feeling like heading to the polls? You can vote by mail! You can apply for a write-in ballot online or ask someone you trust who is at least 18 years old to act as your agent. The deadline to apply for mail-in ballot is Saturday August 7 at 6PM. Visit Elections Nova Scotia online to get your ballot.

You can make an appointment through your local returning office for a write-in ballot team to visit your home to help you vote. Write-in ballots are conducted every day except Sunday at Returning Offices.
