There’s An Unclaimed Lottery Ticket In Cape Breton Worth A Lot Of Money

Someone won the ultimate Christmas gift in Cape Breton on December 23, 2020 but has yet to claim their prize. According to Atlantic Lottery, the lucky person bought a winning Atlantic 49 ticket in New Waterford and have not claimed their prize.

The winner matched five of six numbers plus the bonus and won $64,900. The odds of matching the numbers were one in over 2 million. The winning numbers were 18, 23, 26, 45, 46, 48 and the bonus was 42.

Atlantic Lottery reminds players to check their tickets. “The vast majority of prizes are claimed because people are eager to check their numbers after a draw.” said Greg Weston, Communications Strategist for Atlantic Lottery.

It is unknown why the winner has yet to come forward. They may not know they’re winners or they might be waiting for the last minute. The lucky person has one year from the draw date to claim their big win from Atlantic Lottery.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the timeframe has been extended to allow players up to 18 months to claim prizes for national and regional lottery tickets that would have otherwise expired from March 17, 2020, up to and including September 17, 2020.
