You often hear on the evening news of people being lost in the wilderness or someone’s loved one who may have wandered off due to Alzheimer’s Disease, Autism or other impairment.
The group called on by emergency services in these cases is often Nova Scotia Search and Rescue. Their goal is to support their community by being a resource during natural disasters and responding 24/7 if someone does become lost or injured in the wilderness. In order to be able to maintain their equipment, vehicles and other tools required to do their job, they depend heavily on fundraisers.
You can make a difference by supporting their monthly 50/50 draw. When purchasing tickets, select your local Search and Rescue team and keep your donation local.
There are 23 Search And Rescue teams in Nova Scotia that are counting on the public’s support so you can count on them when needed at a moments notice.
