Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for areas of Nova Scotia. Everyone is likely to see some rain and blustery weather, but specific areas can expect lots of rain and high winds.
A Special Weather Statement is in effect for Digby County, Lunenburg County, Queens County, Shelburne County and Yarmouth County.
In these areas you can expect rainfall amounts around 50mm with higher local amounts being possible. Maximum wind gusts are expected between 80 and 100 km/h.
According to Environment Canada, rainfall will begin Tuesday afternoon and become heavy at times overnight into Wednesday. Strong easterly winds and rain are expected to taper to showers with diminishing winds early Thursday morning.
There is still some uncertainty in the approaching system and which areas will see the highest precipitation and winds. Don’t be surprised to see rainfall and wind warnings in the coming days.
