Someone Broke Into A Canada Post Office In Pictou County And Your Mail Could Be In Danger

Pictou County District RCMP are investigating after someone broke into a post office in the County.

This morning, January 17, at approximately 8:10 AM, RCMP responded to a report of a break-in at the post office on Highway 4 in Salt Springs. RCMP learned the post office had been broken into overnight. Mail, a parcel, stamps, keys and a Canada Post rooftop light were stolen.

Canada Post doesn’t deliver to community mailboxes after regular business hours. RCMP are asking if you see a vehicle with a Canada Post sign, at a community mailbox and it’s an unusual time of day to report it immediately.

If you have information on the break-in you are asked to contact Pictou County District RCMP at (902) 755-4141. Anonymous tips can be sent to Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers by calling toll free at 1 (800) 222-TIPS. You can submit secure tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
