Update: Four Young Children Removed From Hot Vehicle At Wal-Mart In New Glasgow By Emergency Services

New Glasgow Regional Police have confirmed to Saltwire Network that four children aged one to nine were left unattended in a blue Volkswagen this afternoon, July 29 at Wal-Mart in New Glasgow.

There were reports on social media there was a heavy presence of police, EHS and fire at the local Wal-Mart after young children were left in a hot vehicle.

The children were treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Temperatures had been forecast to feel like 40 degrees this afternoon in the town with a heat warning issued.

This unfortunate situation is the perfect reminder to be mindful of children in vehicles. Never leave a child or pet unattended in a vehicle.
