RCMP Investigating Possible Shooting Threat To Acadia University

Kings District RCMP is investigating a reported threat directed towards Acadia University, potentially set to occur in the fall of 2023.

The RCMP received a report on June 6, 2023, concerning a possible shooting threat to the Wolfville-based university. The information first reached university authorities through an email received by the Acadia University Safety and Security department. Initial findings from the investigation have revealed that the details of the threat were also being shared on a social media platform.

The exact nature of the threat suggested that a shooting incident might take place at the Acadia University campus during the upcoming fall term. However, the RCMP has noted that the threat has yet to be corroborated or verified.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted in close collaboration between the Kings District RCMP and the Acadia University Safety and Security department. These efforts are part of a safety planning process.
