
Environment Canada says to expect rain which at times will be heavy. Amounts of 60-90mm are expected across the province, with some areas possible reaching 100-150mm in Eastern Nova Scotia.
The rain is likely to taper off in western areas on Tuesday, but periods of rain could linger over eastern Nova Scotia into the latter part of the week giving further rainfall accumulations.
Environment Canada says to expect strong southeasterly winds ahead of the low today. Generally, these winds are expected to gust between 60 and 80 km/h, but areas along the Atlantic coast from Halifax, eastward could see gusts as high as 100 km/h.
Wind warnings have been issued for counties along the coast east of Halifax and all of Cape Breton.
