Province Is Reporting 86 New COVID-19 Cases Today (Monday, October 4, 2021)

Today, Nova Scotia is reporting 86 new cases of COVID-19 and 94 recoveries since the last update on Friday, October 1.

Sixty seven cases are reported in Central Zone, 13 cases are reported in Western Zone, five cases are reported in Northern Zone and one case is reported in Eastern Zone.

The Province says there is community spread in Central Zone, mainly among people aged 20 to 40 who are unvaccinated and participating in social activities.

Over the past three days, seven schools were notified of an exposure(s) at their school. They note an exposure associated with a school does not mean there is spread within the school or that the initial case was first exposed to the virus in the school.

Staff, parents and guardians are notified of exposures if a positive case was at the school while infectious. A list of schools with exposures is available online:

Nova Scotia has 231 active cases of COVID-19. Sixteen people are in hospital, four of which are in ICU.
