Halifax Passport Office Wait Times Are Now Available Online So You Can Prepare And Bring A Chair If Needed

The federal government and minister responsible have acknowledged that the wait times for passports, especially at passport offices are unacceptable.

The federal government has said 72 per cent of Canadians who apply for a passport in any manner will get it within 40 business day. Ninety-six per cent of Canadians who submit an application in person will get their passport within 10 business days.

If you are like many Canadians, you likely didn’t travel internationally during the pandemic and your passport may have expired. Long lineups await those who are apply in-person.

Canadians can now visit the Passport Canada website and see the wait times at offices across the country, including Halifax.

Quick, start the car! As of publication, the wait time at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 16 in Halifax was only 30 minutes.
