One Nova Scotia’s Largest Schools Just Had A Case Of COVID-19 Diagnosed

Nova Scotia announced 12 new cases of COVID-19 today. The 12th case, announced late this afternoon, is in one of the province’s largest schools.

Citadel High school has an enrollment of 1,509 students according to the Halifax Regional Centre For Education’s website.

The school had been closed for students today as it was a professional development and virtual parent/teacher meeting day.  Citadel High will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, December 4 and again Monday, December 7.

A thorough cleaning of the building will take place while students learn and do their lessons at home. Students and staff will receive an update Monday.

Public Health will be contacting anyone who had close contact with the positive case and give advice and guidance on the next steps to take.  These people will be tested and asked to isolate for 14 days.
