Suspect Captured After Search For Shooter Crosses Border Into Nova Scotia

An emergency alert has been issued saying the suspect has been captured.


The search for a New Brunswick shooting suspect has crossed the border into Nova Scotia after his vehicle was found abandoned in Amherst by local police.

New Brunswick RCMP tweeted they are working with Amherst Police and Nova Scotia RCMP to find 24 year-old Janson Bryan Baker. If you see Baker, call 911 immediately. Do not approach.

Police tweeted that Baker is believed to be in possession of firearms with the intent of using them after a shooting outside of Riverview High School in Riverview, NB.

CTV News reports the victim of the shooting outside the school was a teacher who also coaches the boys basketball team. CTV News reports he was leaving the school after a practice when he was confronted and shot by a man who tried to rob him.
