After tonight’s win, Mattea Roach has become the most winning Canadian in Jeopardy! history. The title was held Bob Blake who was a Tournament of Champions winner and won a total of $197,501. Mattea has taken the title from Blake with a total to date of $210,802.
She also becomes the 18th most winning contestant ever in regular season play on television’s favourite game show.
The first and second rounds of Jeopardy tonight saw Mattea have a strong competitor in contestant Katie Teller. It wasn’t a runaway like it had been in previous games and Katie had the opportunity to overtake Mattea in Final Jeopardy.
Luckily for Mattea a correct response to the Final Jeopardy clue and a sizeable wager saw her not only win the game but earn her spot in Jeopardy! history. In tonight’s episode she added $28,001 to her total.
