Today, Nova Scotia is reporting 19 new cases of COVID-19 and 29 recoveries. The province has 127 active cases of COVID-19. Ten people are in hospital COVID-19 units.
“You only have to look at our case numbers to see that most people contracting COVID-19 have not been vaccinated,” said Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health.
“Vaccination is the absolute best way to protect yourself and those around you. To everyone who is fully vaccinated – thank you. To all those who are not – please don’t wait.”
Fourteen of the reported cases are in Central Zone. Five are close contacts of previously reported cases. Nine are under investigation.
The Province says here are signs of community spread among those in Central Zone aged 20 to 40 who are unvaccinated and participating in social activities.
Two cases reported are in Northern Zone. Both are close contacts of previously reported cases.
Two cases reported are in Eastern Zone. One is a close contact of a previously reported case. One is under investigation.
One case is in Western Zone. It is under investigation.
