Followers Of Nova Scotia Buzz and Nova Scotia Webcams Rally To Raise Over $50,000 For Fires Appeal

In the aftermath of the devastating wildfires that ravaged parts of Nova Scotia, a wave of overwhelming support has swept across the region, with Nova Scotians, other Canadians and international friends rallying together in the spirit of unity.

The fires led to massive evacuations in Halifax’s Tantallon and Hammond’s Plains areas, as well as Shelburne County, tragically resulting in the loss of about 150 homes in the Halifax Regional Municipality and approximately 60 homes and cottages in Shelburne County.

In a remarkable show of Nova Scotian generosity, followers of Nova Scotia Buzz and Nova Scotia Webcams have successfully raised $51,762 for the Canadian Red Cross Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada Fires Appeal after government matching. We are deeply grateful to our followers who not only donated but also dedicated their time to appeal for contributions.

The latest donations put the contributions of Nova Scotia Buzz and Nova Scotia Webcam followers over $170,000 raised for important Nova Scotia causes including the organization Feed Nova Scotia and other natural disasters.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Trailer Park Boys and the cast of Vollies, including Jonathan Torrens and Alicia Mccarvell for their valuable contributions. Additionally, a special thanks to Glace Bay’s Turnbull Brothers whose appeal included a song they performed on Canada’s Got Talent.

As we navigate through this difficult time, the outpouring of support those affected have received has been a a sign of hope, demonstrating that we are stronger together.
