Halifax Regional Police say they are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in Downtown Halifax.
At approximately 7:20 PM police say they responded to the call of a robbery in progress in the 1500 block of Lower Water Street. The victim’s car was stolen after the suspect approached and produced a knife. The vehicle is described as a gold coloured 2009 Toyota Camry, with Nova Scotia license plate GML055.
The suspect in the carjacking is described as a dark-skinned male, with dark-colored hair and eyes.
The stolen vehicle was last viewed crossing the MacDonald Bridge, heading into Dartmouth. The suspect failed to stop for police and the pursuit was called off for public safety reasons.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 902-490-5020.
