Captured: Tobias Doucette Has Been Arrested By Police

Tobias Charles Doucette has been captured by police. Doucette was still only wearing shorts, with no shoes or shirt.

According to Bridgewater Police, at approximately 9:00 pm last night, Lunenburg District RCMP received a call about an attempted stolen vehicle in Hebbville. RCMP, with assistance of Bridgewater Police Service, set up a perimeter to allow the RCMP Emergency Response Team to search for the suspect.

After a search of a wooded area in Hebbville, Doucette was found and arrested without incident and suffered no injuries as the result of his arrest. EHS assessed him for his well-being.

Doucette was still only wearing shorts, with no shoes or shirt at the time of his arrest.

He had escaped capture for the past several days after Bridgewater Police responded to the Bridgewater Hotel on High Street to investigate a domestic assault complaint.

According to Bridgewater Police he stabbed responding officer, Sgt Matt Bennett in the neck with an edged weapon. Sgt. Bennett required surgery in Halifax. Doucette’s partner suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.

RCMP revealed in a tweet that Doucette had also stabbed a police dog during the search.
