Canada’s Top Baby Names Of 2020 Has Been Released

The spreadsheets and registrations have been looked over and babycentre.ca has come up with the top baby names of 2020. If you’re expecting, or have kids, you know one of the most important duties as a parent is choosing the perfect name.

For boy names, Liam took top position this year after falling from the top previous years. The biggest mover this year was Maverick, up 32 places to take position 31.

The list had 11 new entries this year with Easton at number 50. Other names that made the top 100 for the first time included, Julian, Everett, Ali, Isaiah, George, Christian, Archer, Brooks, Milo and Enzo.

Names that made comebacks included Henry, Ryan, Charlie, Xavier and Parker.

Names that fell in position were, Declan, Colton, Felix, Dylan, Landon and Carson.

On the girls side, the Latin name Olivia climbed back to the top position. Mia crawled up to position three, Mila and Charlotte were non-movers this year holding at numbers nine and six respectively.

The strongest new entry on the charts was Rosalie, which came in at number 70. Other new girl entries included Adalyn, Freya, Callie, Lena, Tessa, Blake, Bella, Kiara, Myra, Maisie, Lexi, Serena, Evie and Kylie which all took positions between 75 and 100.

The largest climb in the charts this year by a girl’s name was Leah. The name went up by 41 places to number 16 after plummeting 51 places in 2019.

You can expect Nova Scotia’s top baby names of 2020 to be released early in the new year!
