BREAKING: Mattea Roach’s Win Streak Ends – But She Will Be Back For The Tournament Of Champions

All good things must come to an end and sadly that’s the case for Mattea Roach’s Jeopardy! winning streak. The 23-year-old champion from Nova Scotia played a strong game but wasn’t able to pull off a 24th win.

For more than a month, Halifax’s Mattea Roach was cheered on by Nova Scotia and had an entire country behind her lending support. She appeared on multiple television news and entertainment programs and was the pride of the province and Canada. Mattea is the fifth most winning Jeopardy! contestant in television history!

In tonight’s episode, the first Jeopardy round went well for Mattea. Her competitor Danielle got the Daily Double but Mattea was able to keep the lead heading into Double Jeopardy.

In the Double Jeopardy round Mattea and Danielle each found a Daily Double but Danielle made a strong wager keeping Mattea away from a runaway game. Heading into Final Jeopardy Mattea was in the lead with $19,200, Danielle had $11,400 and their other competitor Betsy had $7400.

In Final Jeopardy the clue was just not in Mattea’s wheelhouse and she answered incorrectly. For Danielle the question was conveniently about her home state of Atlanta and she had the correct response. Because of their wagers Danielle managed to win by just one dollar!

Mattea will be back for the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions in November and we can’t wait to cheer her on!

Final Jeopardy Clue:

These 2 mayors gave their names to a facility built on the site of an old racetrack owned by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Candler

Correct Response:

Who are (William B.) Hartsfield & (Maynard) Jackson?

What do you think?
