You Can Enjoy All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes At These Nova Scotia Restaurants On Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday, is a traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter and is traditionally a time of fasting.

On Shrove Tuesday, Anglo-Saxon Christians went to confession to be forgiven for their sins. A bell would be rung to call people to confession. This bell would come to be called the “Pancake Bell” and is still rung today.

Shrove Tuesday was the last day to use up eggs and fats before Lent began and pancakes were the perfect way to use up the ingredients.

You can enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes at your local Smitty’s Family Restaurant on Tuesday this week. Their Classic Buttermilk Pancakes cost $9.99 and includes three large size of pancakes. All-you-can-eat entitles you to three helpings of the large pancakes.

We confirmed with most Nova Scotia locations, that they will be serving up this promotion on Tuesday. The Sydney location could not be reached.
