Dominic Gatelaro has been chef for events attended by Barak Obama to corporate UFC events. During the pandemic, he was walking his dog at home in Montreal. His Pitbull decided to do its business on a small replica of the Peggy’s Cove lighthouse in a stranger’s yard. It was a sign for Gatelaro.
He returned home and asked his wife if she wanted to move from Quebec which had just recently banned the Pitbull breed. Next thing you knew, his family packed up and moved to Nova Scotia.
Dominic’s Cucina food trucks are taking the Halifax area by storm with their maple wood fired ovens shipped from Italy for their Italian cuisine. From authentic Italian pizza to authentic Italian paninis their food is a hot commodity when it rolls into local neighbourhoods and you need to order early or leave disappointed.
Dominic’s Cucina sets up most weeks on Wednesdays at Cole Harbour Place in Cole Harbour and on Lake Banook at the corner of Prince Albert Road and Celtic Drive in Dartmouth on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Ordering from Dominic’s is becoming a weekly tradition for families in the area. You can order by calling (902) 222-7983 on the day you wish to order. Dominic sells out frequently so order early.
In the summer Dominic’s will also visit the Halifax side of the harbour. Any time of year you can find out when and where they will be as well as their menu by following them on social media.
