The List: These Halifax Restaurants Were Just Named Some Of The Best In All Of Canada

Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants List 2023 was just published and it has provided numerous new and newer Halifax restaurants with some serious bragging rights.

The list provides a comprehensive look at Canada’s best dining and is a go to if you’re travelling or looking to dine local at some of the best locations.

Coming in 12th position for the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada is Halifax’s Bar Kismet.

“Bar Kismet is refined, relaxed and a little bit retro.” says the publication. “Dark wood and white beadboard, milk-glass light fixtures, mix-and-match china and potted plants — all contribute to a room of inviting comfort, falling somewhere between your grandmother’s dining room and a farmhouse inn in the French countryside”.

For the most part, Bar Kismet’s menu changes weekly. The publication says your best bets are to ask about seasonal vegetables, seafood or daily pasta. The pasta is all handmade.

You can find Bar Kismet at 2733 Agricola Street.

Here is a complete list of local restaurants that made Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants 2023

12. Bar Kismet (Halifax)
57. Drift (Halifax)
64. Bicycle Thief (Halifax)
74. Cafe Lunette (Halifax)

Cafe Lunette is ranked #5 in Canada for best new restaurant and is located in Queen’s Marque at 1741 Lower Water Street.

Ranked #7 is Fawn located at 1589 South Park Street.

“This comfortable, elegant space is home to chef Natalie Rosen and her team’s newest project, offering a diverse menu of North American dishes with Western European influences.” says Canada’s 100 Best.

Finally the third restaurant in Canada’s Top 10 New Restaurants is Peacock at #9 which is also located at Queen’s Marque.

“As well as listing some intriguing by-the-glass wine offerings, this stylish wine bar serves locally sourced small plates designed for sharing.” says Canada’s 100 Best.
