The first Sobeys employee to test positive for COVID-19 in Nova Scotia has been reported.
The employee works at their Forrest Hills store in Cole Harbour and last worked on Monday, April 6. Public Health has reviewed the circumstances of this case and has advised that the risk of exposure to other employees and customers is low.
Sobeys told Nova Scotia Buzz in a statement, “As an essential service in communities across Canada, our top priority is to keep our customers and our teammates safe. We are working around the clock to make that a reality. We are thinking about our teammate and all Canadians fighting this virus, and send our most sincere hopes for a speedy recovery.”
The Forrest Hill’s location is open and continues to diligently follow Public Health approved cleaning, hygiene and operations practices.
Sobeys has been in touch with their teammate to ensure they are well cared for and are supporting them throughout their recovery.
