New Glasgow’s Atlantic Superstore Closed After Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19

The Atlantic Superstore in New Glasgow has been closed for the rest of the day due to an employee testing positive with COVID-19.

In a statement to Nova Scotia Buzz, Loblaw Atlantic said, “We are aware that one of the colleagues from the Atlantic Superstore in New Glasgow has recently tested positive for COVID-19.  The colleague last worked on April 1st.”

“We are reaching out to local public health officials and are taking a number of steps to minimize risk, including increased sanitization protocols and enforcing social distancing practices in the store. The store is closed for a thorough cleaning, and is expected to reopen tomorrow. ”

Customers who had a scheduled pickup for PC Express have received phone calls cancelling their pick up today and will be followed up with soon.

Bedford’s Atlantic Superstore evacuated the store and closed its doors on March 27th with a medical emergency as well.

That event was caused by a store employee testing positive for COVID-19. In that case, employees who worked closely with person who who tested positive self-isolated at home. The Bedford employee had a position where he did not interact with the public.
