Just A Cape Bretoner And His Dream Of Bringing Back Scotsburn Juice – How You Can Help

Travis Collier, 22 years of age from Sydney, Nova Scotia has set a goal for himself. That goal is to help assist in the return of Scotsburn Juice. The juice was a drink which kids from the 90’s knew and loved. Flavours of the sugary drink included lemonade, peach, grape and Collier’s personal favourite, fruit punch. It was available in 2 litre jugs and juice bags.

Scotsburn’s fluid milk activities were acquired by Quebec dairy giant Saputo in 2014 along with the company’s juice recipes.

Saputo discontinued the juice but Collier suggests in his online petition that the dairy giant could bring it back for a short release like Farmer’s Dairy did when they re-released Beep for a period.

Saputo said in a social media post from 2016 that these products were discontinued because they represented small sales volumes and the company decided to refocus the Scotsburn brand on fresh dairy products.

While researching and preparing his online petition to bring back the juice, Collier learned that Scotsburn’s plant in Sydney, NS was shut down by Saptuo in 2016 and more than 100 Cape Bretoners lost their jobs.

Collier has become ambitious with his petition. He is now calling for the re-opening of the Sydney plant and would like you to sign if you support the return of Scotsburn Juice and the re-opening of Sydney’s dairy plant.

You can sign Collier’s online petition here.
