Jif Peanut Butter Products Recalled Across Canada Due To Potential Salmonella

The J. M. Smucker Co. has announced a voluntary recall of many Jif products sold in Canada due to potential salmonella contamination.

The company says customers that have products matching the following descriptions in their possession, should dispose of them immediately.

The product lot code for the impacted products range from 1274425 – 2140425.

Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.
