A Nova Scotia Family Needs Your Support – You Could Get An Experience With Jonathan Torrens And More

There are many people lucky enough to know Simon McNeil. They have had him look out for them on the pitch, ice or to take care of their plumbing needs.

For the past year, Simon and his young family have been dealing quietly with a serious health issue. Simon was been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

His two children and wife Kelly along with close family have supported him every step, but now the family needs the support of community. Simon has been unable to work for several months and significant medical costs are coming to make Simon’s life more comfortable.

His wife Kelly is a self-employed hairstylist and has been unable to take time away from work. The whole family is carrying a lot at the moment and will be in the future.

There is an online auction happening that has many gift cards and services that people use everyday. All proceeds from the auction are being donated to the McNeil family.

Items include gift cards to restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, a Halifax Moosehead Skybox, salon services and much much more.

Perhaps the most unique item up for grabs is an experience with Jonathan Torrens. You know and love him from Street Cents, Jonovision, as J-Roc on The Trailer Park Boys, and more recently on Vollies.

The winning bid for the “Jonathan Torrens Experience” can choose between a Zoom call from Jonathan, a custom audio recording from J-roc himself, a script consultation or the winner can be an extra on the next season of Vollies.

Bids on items to raise money for the McNeil family can be made on ViewBid.

Those who cannot pick up items in Halifax need to arrange for shipping at their expense.
